The creation of Noesis Energy Consultants Inc. recognizes the expanded business opportunities now available in the Energy Sector, particularly in view of the large scale oil & gas and hydro developments that are currently on-going in Canada, in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador; and better enables the company to work cooperatively with other associated firms involved in business development activities. The consulting experience of Noesis' Managing Director and Principal Consultant, Fred Murrin, spans a wide variety of projects, including strategic market development, business representation, identification and pursuit of business opportunities, business coaching and advice, as well as due diligence investigations and analysis. Project clients include both large and smaller firms as well as provincial and national governments and industry associations. Prior to establishing his consulting business Mr. Murrin enjoyed a career which spanned more than 30 years in various business development roles with both the public and private sectors. His latest employment position was General Manager - Business Development with J. D. Irving Limited, a large integrated group of industrial firms, involved in manufacturing, shipyards, offshore supply vessels, marine and ground transportation, building supplies and construction. In his previous 25-year career with the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, Mr. Murrin held various senior positions, including Director of Offshore Petroleum Development and Director of Industrial Benefits, with the Departments of Industry and Energy, and also Director of Trade and Investment with the Department of Development and Tourism. Mr. Murrin has organized and led many business trade missions to North Sea countries to identify and assist in the formation of joint ventures and partnerships between foreign and Newfoundland firms to enable them to successfully bid on offshore oil and gas development contracts.
